These beautiful mid century double theatre seats came from a cinema theatre in Nancy, Eastern France and date from the 1950s. The theatre was designed and built in the 1950s by the architect brother of the famous furniture designer Jean Prouvé. The seats have been unused for many years and are in original condition. There are marks, imperfections and scuff marks as to be expected and as they have been sitting unused for years some of the dust and dirt has ingrained into the wood which we have tried to show in the photos, we have adjusted the price because of this. The chairs have plywood seats and back, the closing mechanism works well. The seats have metal feet, gold painted wooden ends and painted wooden arm rests. The seats need to be attached to the floor for and are unstable on their own, we have added wooden batons for stability and for transporting them. Great as extra seating that does not take up much room or perfect for the hallway, a really great piece!
